Summer Whistle III for advanced whistle students

$200.00

The whistle classes will be the entry point for younger children into Irish music. This is for students who have finished whistle II, or are playing the tin whistle in the other group classes

It will focus on the fundamentals of the tin whistle as a first step towards understanding the music, and as a gateway to continuing on the whistle or with a second instrument.  They will learn tone production, scales, and basic tunes until they are ready to graduate to the performance class.  Once a student is ready to progress past the whistle class, it is recommended that they be paired with a private instructor for the instrument that they would like to continue on, whether that is the whistle or one of the other instruments common is Irish traditional music. Whistle will be taught according to the Mary Bergin method.

Classes will take place at St. Luke’s Church on the Avenue at 800 W 36th St.

Whistle III will meet from 2-3PM on the following Sundays:

May 18, 25
June 1, 8, 22, 29
July 6, 13, 27
Aug 3

Enrollment at BIMS is contingent upon agreement with the academy terms and conditions.
