Madeline Dierauf is a fiddler from North Carolina and a founding member of the Irish traditional trio The East Coasters with Richard Hearn and Calum Bell. At an early age, she was immersed in Irish music through mentorship from Beanie O’Dell, focused specifically on East Clare style fiddling. Madeline also learned from Ellen Lee, Josh Carter and Owen Grooms, and Nicky Sanders. As a teenager, she played at Orlando’s Universal Studios, for the Irish Prime Minister in Atlanta’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and at IrishFest Atlanta. She has since played onstage with beloved bands such as Lúnasa, Cherish the Ladies, and Solas, and performed at staple venues such as Cleveland Irish Arts, Celtic Fest Mississippi, and the McGurk’s Pub residency in St. Louis.

In 2024, The East Coasters released their debut album, and she continues to tour regularly with them. After independent field work in Ireland and Northern Ireland on regional fiddle styles in 2024, she recently earned a Master’s degree in American Studies with a thesis on the roots of Appalachian ballads, and is currently pursuing a second Master’s in Musicology as a Rhodes Scholar at The University of Oxford
